We hope everyone survived lockdown ok. Like many of you, we were fully shocked as we head into Level 4 here in New Zealand. Of course, our first thoughts were with the essential workers and victims of Covid-19, but are thoughts were also close to home here in Raglan where many of us heavily rely on the influx of tourists that visit each year.

We spent lockdown here at Koru Lodge with our 7 year old son and newborn baby. We had a family from The Netherlands and a couple couples from Hawaii staying here as well. It was great to have guests up here – even though we couldn’t hang out, it was nice to communicate electronically and from a few meters away when we ran into each other on the land.

We took advantage of our time here to get a better sense of the land. Jaco and Bryce worked around the gardens just about everyday – getting rid of weeds and figuring out what to plant over winter.

Now that life seems to feel more normal, we are stoked to open our doors again. In the past we have had many international tourists and kiwi travellers. We are SO looking forward to hosting mostly kiwis now. We love to promote other businesses in town, so we are currently working on a page for our website called “Raglan Guide”. Even if you don’t stay with us, it will be helpful if you’re visiting Raglan.

Get in touch if you’re wanting to book or enquiry. We can’t wait to hear from you!
